EXPLORE THE STUNNING ISLAND OF ACHILL

Achill Isle House
COASTAL BED & BREAKFAST
Sheila and Gerard Mangan welcome you to their beautiful coastal B&B overlooking the picturesque village of Keel on the island of Achill in County Mayo, Ireland. The breathtaking views overlooking Keel Beach and the Minaun Cliffs from Achill Isle House is an unforgettable experience for guests at our home.
Achill Isle House is Failte Ireland (Irish Tourist Board) approved and has been welcoming guests since it opened in 1991. A purposely designed dormer bungalow giving spectacular views over the entire Keel Bay Area.
Our B&B is located just 2 minutes walk above the village but yet far enough away to enjoy the peace and quiet of its surroundings. It backs onto Keel Hill, allowing our guests a choice of leisurely hill walks or sandy beaches to explore. It is an ideal location for painting, golf, hill walking, surfing, canoeing, cycling, fishing, photography, etc., or more importantly, unwinding from the stress of every day life.
Here at Achill Isle House B&B, we use the freshest of locally sourced ingredients with an emphasis on healthy foods such as fresh fruits and yogurt, free range eggs, Kelly puddings and not to mention our delicious homemade jams.
We look forward to welcoming you to our home.

What To Do In Achill
activities to enjoy

Watersports
Achill provides a haven for watersports activities of all types. Keel strand is one of Ireland’s most popular destinations for surfing for all skill levels. Sea kayaking, windsurfing, and SUP is also possible for individuals or groups. And for those who want to take it a bit easier, the Atlantic waters around Achill provide one of the best sea angling grounds in Europe.

Hiking
Achill Island and the Curraun Peninsula offer the keen hiker a hillwalking paradise. Unlike many other popular walking destinations in the west of Ireland, most of the countryside on Achill is in common ownership which means that it is freely open and accessible for hillwalking. We offer guided walks so that you can explore the entire area while availing of our local knowledge.

Biking
Achill is a fantastic place for cycling. The island has three looped trails in the Achill Cycle Hub. It is also at one end of the magnificent new Great Western Greenway, a world-class 42km off-road cycle and walking trail that follows the route of the former Achill-Westport railway line. The Greenway starts/ends at Achill Sound. Bikes are available to hire locally.
